NXGEN complete load-in, site move and jack down of 1,000Te topside.

Playing a key role in decommissioning projects.

NXGEN played a critical role in the Leman 27J Decommissioning Project by performing the load-in, site move and jacking down of a 1,000Te topside in The Netherlands. This decommissioning project, and NXGEN’s involvement within it, supports the energy transition away from oil and gas.

NXGEN supplied a range of support steelwork, SPMTs and climbing jacks for the project. Working in close collaboration with Petrodec, the topside was successfully loaded-in using skid shoes, with its weight then transferred to SPMTs in preparation for the site move.

The topside’s structural integrity had deteriorated over time, presenting a significant engineering challenge. NXGEN engineers designed a solution using 40 axle lines of SPMTs and 4 power packs, with modular steelwork strategically placed on the SPMTs to evenly distribute the load and prevent overloading.

Once loaded, the topside was transported to its final destination and jacked down 2.5m using climbing jacks.

NXGEN provided the 40 axle lines of SPMTs, four Z180 power packs, modular support steelwork and all the associated jacking equipment required to execute the operation. The team also provided engineering expertise and project management support throughout the process.
