Complex Towhead Transport Project.

Wick, UK.

NXGEN have successfully delivered a complex transport and engineering solution to relocate five towhead structures from Wick Harbour to a designated laydown area, in collaboration with Global Port Services. The operation required navigating through the town centre, demanding precise planning, engineering and coordination. Early engagement with the client enabled NXGEN to conduct a comprehensive route survey, identifying key challenges and swept paths well in advance of the operation.

Following the route survey, our in-house engineering team undertook a detailed structural analysis of the loads and designed a specific transport arrangement to safely and securely transport them to the laydown area. This configuration utilised 28 axles and 2 Power Packs from NXGEN’s Self Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs) fleet, along with our 300Te capacity turntables to securely mount each of the structures.

The successful delivery of all five towheads, on schedule and without incident, showcased NXGEN’s engineering precision, logistical planning, and executional strength to meet the complex demands of the oil and gas sector.
