At NXGEN we are passionate about providing flexible and cost saving services to our clients, and a recent project with Ravestein is a perfect example of this. Our flexibility meant that we were able to offer a tailored solution, where we supplied the appropriate equipment, personnel and services for the project, but at a much reduced cost to our client. Resulting in the successful delivery of a complex loadout operation.

Ravestein have a longstanding relationship with NXGEN and we already provide ongoing day-to-day SPMT services in the form of transport engineering and maintenance services. However, when more challenging operations are required, NXGEN provide an increased level of service, alongside Ravestein’s own operational resources, to support these requirements.

Ravestein contacted us regarding our SPMT and loadout services to support their Caisson (floating dock gate) loadout. For this loadout operation, the Caisson weighed 800Te and required a total of 48 lines of SPMTs and 2 x 390hp PPUs. NXGEN and Ravestein each provided 24 lines and a 390hp PPU to fulfil the engineering requirement for the loadout. Combining the use of SPMTs in such a way, allows NXGEN to reduce the costs for our clients and maximise the utilisation of their own equipment and resources.

In addition to the equipment, NXGEN also provided operational support throughout this phase of the project, by supplying supervisors and operators, along with transport engineering services for the loadout. Our supervisors and operators are highly skilled and experienced in delicate loadout operations and are able to add value by helping deliver a safe and successful heavy transport operation.
