Steel module transport.

Providing transport and engineering solutions.

NXGEN was contracted to provide transport and lift plans, as well as a sea fastening design for the transport of 4 No. steel modules approximately 65-100Te in weight.  The modules were to be transported from the fabrication facility via SPMT to then be lifted by an LTM1650 mobile crane onto a waiting coaster vessel for onward transportation.

Due to the design of the modules, it was not possible to attach lashing chains, therefore the sea fastening had to be designed to restrain the modules at the base only.  NXGEN completed the sea fastening design and fabrication drawings.  The design was further complicated by the requirement to spread the load from the module feet to prevent punching through the vessel deck, as all loading and restraint had to be transferred through the load-spreading mats.
